Dear Players and Coaches,
As we gear up for the John Hellie Tournament we want to take a moment to reinforce the importance of sportsmanship and maintaining a positive atmosphere on the field. Your conduct not only reflects on yourselves but also on your team and the tournament as a whole.
To ensure fairness and respect for all participants, we have established the following guidelines regarding music and vocal expressions during gameplay:
1. Music will only be permitted to be played between innings-NO WALK-UP music. This allows for a brief moment of enjoyment without disrupting the flow of the game.
2. Players and coaches are encouraged to cheer and support their team as they wish. Positive reinforcement is a vital part of the game and can make a significant impact on morale.
3. However, it's essential to maintain a level of sportsmanship at all times. Therefore, negative behavior, screaming, or chanting directed towards the opposing team or players is strictly prohibited.
In particular, we want to highlight that no negative behavior, screaming, or chanting is allowed when the pitcher is set. This ensures that all players can focus and perform to the best of their abilities without unnecessary distractions.
We appreciate your cooperation in upholding these guidelines and creating a positive and respectful environment for all participants. Let's continue to showcase the true spirit of sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
*There are three batting cages available in Pierz for use. By the elementary school and also the varsity field.
*Please have the roster form filled out before the first game and also make sure each player has some form of proof of date of birth. (birth certificate, school records, etc.). You will NOT be asked to present this before your first game but it's a good idea to have on hand in case any player's age is questioned. pybc_tournament_roster_form__1_.pdf
*If you have any questions regarding bats please ask the umpire BEFORE your game. If there are any questions just address them with the umpires ahead of time. If a team is caught with an illegal bat during play the team will be given an out the first time and the second time will result in the coach being ejected from the tourney. We don't want to get to this so please make sure you are following bat rules. We follow MSF rules.
*Each team should have 2 game balls ready to use for each game. (1 new and 1 like-new).
*A coin toss will be used to determine the home team for pool play. Home team in bracket play is determined by higher seed, if teams have the same seed, a coin toss will be used.
*Team 1 in 1st Base dugout, Team 2 in 3rd base dugout.
* Any protest or rules violations must be made prior to the last out of the game. The pitch count rules violation does not apply to this. The tournament director has the right to apply the pitch count rules violation even after a game is completed.
* There will be no infield between games. After each game it will take approximately 10-15 minutes to prep the field.
*Please have your team ready to take the field as soon as we are done getting the field ready, games may run a little early.
