Background Check
All coaches are required to complete a background check to protect our youth. Coaches will be emailed a background check link that must be completed and approved before practice / games can begin. In addition, all coaches must complete concussion training and turn in a concussion certificate before assembling as a team.
Concussion Law
There are concussion laws that went into effect September 1, 2011 that apply to youth sports. A link below will direct you to the more information regarding the law. The law requires:
Coaches remove athletes under 18 from sports events if they have symptoms of concussion.
A health care provider would need to give them permission before they could suit up again.
Mandates that coaches undergo periodic training about concussions (every 3 years).
That parents have easy access to information regarding the risk

Free online course available to coaches and parents. Coaches are now required to have online training at least once every three years. A certificate can be printed to demonstrate that you have completed the course.
